Extraordinary claims about so-called repressed memories in
a recent psychology academic journal depended upon the accuracy
of "recalled" descriptions of a particular World War II aircraft.
Jim Giglio, a humble software engineer and former high school
science teacher, will recount the process by which his straight-
forward skepticism and careful fact checking lead to a peer-reviewed
article rebutting those false memories.

CAPITAL SCIENCE LECTURE
On Tuesday, January 26th, Christopher F. Chyba from the
SETI institute and Department of Geological and Environmental Studies,
Stanford University will speak on PLANETARY PERSPECTIVES
ON LIFE IN THE SOLAR SYSTEM. Oceans make Earth an ideal site for life.
But worlds such as Jupiter's moon Europa also appear to have
oceans sustained beneath a thick layer of ice. Europa may be the best
candidate for life elsewhere in our solar system, and worlds like it may be
common around other stars. This is part of the
CAPITAL SCIENCE LECTURES, Carnegie Institution, 1530 P Street N.W., Washington,
DC 20077. All lectures are free and open to the public. Seating is limited.
Call (202) 328-6988 or email Sherrill Berger at sberger@pst.ciw.edu for details
on attending.
1999 PREDICTIONS
January brings out all the psychics and others with their predictions for the
future. Here are some we've read about. Make sure you save this calendar until
December to see how they did or take what you think is appropriate action
before some dire event occurs! [Disclaimer: NCAS makes no warranties on the
accuracy of any prediction. Contact your lawyer, financial advisor,
psychiatrist, or astrologer before acting on any advice that follows.]
- Florida will become the 11th province of Canada.
Objective measurement: At the end of 1999, Canada will buy Florida.
- Air raids and war in France in 1999. -- Nostradamus prediction.
July 1999 is one of the only explicit dates found in Nostradamus' prophecies.
Generations before us have wondered what would happen in France in July 1999.
- Comet to hit the earth in July. -- Nostradamus again. The same
Quatrain as the above one about war in France. Oh! Well! If neither happens,
then the quatrain will be recycled to prove some other event will occur like
all of Nostradamus' predictions.
- Cataclysmic war with Russia and China. -- Nostradamus' July 1999
prediction again. Two quatrains combine the symbols of a large city weakened
by pestilence (New York?) and a darkening of Sun and Moon (eclipse in
mid-1999), a plundering of
wealth, a violation of temples, the reddening of two rivers and a clash
between red (Russia?) and yellow (China?).
- The Leonids orbit around the Sun and the collision course
it may have with earth is impending.
The Leonid meteor shower came past the Earth, and this same meteor on a
collision course with earth. Art Bell has syndicated this on his Radio show,
talking of "why people are not being aware, or do not care?"
- Major flooding in July, 1999. - Eileen Lakes.
A large flood will occur by pole shift. The earth's axis and change
the arrangement of the planets in the solar system will change in July 1999
causing great flooding.
- On October 10 only 50% of NFL teams will win their games. --
Solong, the Great Gosh predicts.
- Asia's economic problems will worsen in 1999. Proof:
Since 1998=666x3, and 1999 has 666 upside down, and 666 is the Satanic number
of the Bible's Book of Revelation, there is a Satanic energy at work in the
world in 1998 and 1999. This is what is causing the economic problems in Asia
which have started to also affect the U.S. economy.
- Stocks will go up ... and down. -- The Canadian Press.
- Mike Vincent - Discovered how to imbed computer chips into
vegetables. Invented the "smart tomato".
- There will be unusual weather patterns. -- Robert Park
("What's New"). Scientists will explain
that it's either the result of global warming or it's not.
